CRC Orientation Day
For new students, a warm welcome on orientation day is most significant. Both the newcomers and the hosts, so to speak, mutually benefit the merits such and such orientation ceremony yields. On the one hand, those new students feel confident and motivated to embark upon a new academic journey when they know that they are in good hand and under the guidance of professional and caring educators. The faculty and staff members, on the other hand, relatively feel proud of themselves as knowledge and experience providers. That is why orientation ceremony has been practiced worldwide and ever since the first inception of formal education institutions.
On June 17, 2023, Chiang Rai Campus, University of Phayao, held an orientation ceremony that witnessed 68 of master’s degrees students from two majors: Education Administration and Curriculum and Instruction. Associate Professor Dr. Tipchan Wongchanta, Director of Chiang Rai Campus, welcomed the students and gave an orientation speech which focused on two important things the students should acquire while learning at Chiang Rai Campus: technical knowledge in their chosen field of study and interpersonal skills. According to the Director, the more one gains knowledge and experience in the filed of study, the more competent and proficient one can become in the workforce. As no one can work alone and be successful in this increasingly intertwined and interrelated world, the acquired interpersonal skills which presuppose effective communication and humane interaction with others will promisingly catapult the person ahead.
Mr. Supote Manasuhk, CRC Head of Administration, kindly guided the students through the rules and regulations that would help ensure a good and memorable stay on campus. Mr. Phanuphong Moolchanta, CRC computer expert, detailed how to successfully use online applications for study. Ms. Kanjana Potawee, CRC academic staff, talked about the academic services for all students, from the first to the last day of their student life at Chiang Rai Campus. Finally, Mr. Wichanon Maneechart, Head of Service Department, University of Phayao Innovative Learning Institute (UPILI), showed the students how to make the best use of the UPILI, particularly in terms of research and library services.
The ceremony ended with a friendly group photo session, making all participants smile and leave the ceremony with good impression and strong determination to do their best in their respective academic journey, and of course, at their desired higher institution like Chiang Rai Campus, University of Phayao.
