U2T4BCG Showcase

          “Wisdom for Community Empowerment” has been the University of Phayao’s resolution from the beginning.  As far as the history of practice is concerned, this resolution has undergone a number of modifications of forms and names. That is, it first expressed itself in what was known as One School, One Tambon (subdistrict), then One Faculty, One Signature, One Faculty, then One Product, U2T (University to Tambon), and finally U2T for BCG (University to Tambon for Bio-Circular-Green Economy). Although the forms/names have been changes, the essence of the University’s resolution has always been the same: to uplift society and/or communities financially.

          On September 20, 2022, University of Phayao organized a U2T 4BCG Showcase at King Ngam-mueang Auditorium, the main campus. The event exhibited products from 98 Tambon from Phayao Province, Chiang Rai Province, Nan Province, and Lampang Province. Faculty and staff from different schools and divisions of University of Phayao have exploited their research findings, experiences, and wisdom to upgrade the products from those 98 Tambon. As a result, the collaborative projects between University of Phayao and the communities in the U2T for BCG not only help promote local merchandises through packaging and online marketing , thus entailing the increase of sales, but also make the locals aware of environmental health through BCG economy.   

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tipchan Wongchanta and staff members of Chiang Rai Campus also participated in the event, which not only showcased the local products from many provinces but also fashion shows. The knowledge and experiences gained from the event will be used for future planning of Chiang Rai Campus, particulary in terms of community engagement and event management.
