Creative Recycle of Plastic Bottle Caps
The world is routinely contaminated by careless people who are the major cause of all kinds of pollutions (air, noise, water, etc.) It is sad to see that the contaminations people have brought to nature eventually spring back to destroy themselves. Living in an unhealthy nature, in other words, makes us ill too easily. Therefore, we all should join hands to protect nature and environment for our own sake. “Save the World” is, as a matter of fact, a common slogan that modern organizations often use to invite their employees and staff to become environmentally friendly.
On November 8, 2022, Chiang Rai Campus, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tipchan Wongchanta, held a workshop on “Creative Recycle of Plastic Bottle Caps” at the Campus. The project was well related to the well-known BCG Economy Model that Thailand has urged all organizations to adopt and turn it out to reality.
Chiang Rai Campus has a strong intention to preserve nature and environment. Getting rid of rubbish creatively is the main focus of the workshop. The initiative also well supports University of Phayao’s mission to preserve environment (SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production) as well as to uplift the standard of living of the locals (BCG Economy Model: bio-economy, circular economy, and green economy). Used plastic bottle caps were recycled and made into colorful tissue boxes for use at UP Rim Kok Residence. Such practice is not only to reduce the amount of waste that will badly contaminate the earth but also to stimulate creativity among the Campus’s staff members.
